Giving back
my way!
Septermber 18, 2015
There is always a way to give back to the community, do good, be good, and be the change you seek in the world. Many years ago I had found my way to give back by starting to donate murals to local Boys and Girls Clubs around the world. I donated my first mural to the Boys and Girls Club of Novokuznetsk, Russia when I was seventeen and still lived in Russia with my family. Now, living in Seattle I'm continuing my efforts to brighten up kids lives and ignite their imaginations.
As part of United Way Volunteer Day, I have painted a mural at Boys in Girls learning center in Tacoma. It has turned out to be a really nice reading corner! They already had the geckos and the leaf on the walls, so I just drew inspiration from that. It took me about six hours from start to finish to paint the mural.
Finding my way to give back to the community has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life and I'm looking forward to many more murals for the local Boys and Girls Clubs.
So, It's official
I have writen and illustrated
a Childrens' dummy book!
March 12, 2016
Yes, I've written and illustrated a dummy book! "Rainbow Colors" is designed to be a board book shaped as a rainbow when it's opened up. Illustrating children's books is my passion, and I feel like I have grown a lot as an illustrator thanks to this dummy book. I worked on it in my spare time and poured all my heart and soul in its creation. It's inspired by all the love, joy, colors and laughter that our daughter Lily brings into mine and my husband's lives.
The dummy book was designed by my dear and cherished friend Andrei Penkin (Thank you Andrei, this dummy book has become possible only because of you).
The dummy book has been presented at the 45th Annual Conference of Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in Los Angeles this year, so we'll see what happens :)

Chocolate & Art Show
a Success!!!
November 24, 2015
Last Friday, Fremont Art Center in Seattle was home to a wildly popular Art show event, Chocolate & Art Show of Seattle, with 1.3K people in attendance. I was one of the few lucky artists showcasing my paintings. Some people told me that I won the event, as the painting "The Heroic Masterpiece" (or as my husband likes to call it - "Matt Hergert on a Tuesday", as he is the one who comissioned the painting) was the most liked, pointed at, photographed, and"selfied" piece at the event.
With Chocolate fountain, live music, and lots and lost of people who came to see the art show, the event was a blast, and I'm looking forward to the next year's show!
