Tamara is a member of the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators.
Tamara Hergert grew up in Novokuznetsk, Russia where she studied Fine Arts at the local School of Art for four years and graduated with excellence.
​
She started selling her paintings and drawings when she was seventeen. Since then, Tamara has worked as a Graphic Designer, Accountant, Mural Artist, and Illustrator.
​
Tamara's calling for actively painting murals and illustrating children's books awoke with motherhood, and since then, it has become Tamara's passion. Tamara's murals are amazingly well-thought out and her illustrations are vividly expressive and full of heart.

Tamara and her family live in Seattle where they enjoy the proximity of the lakes and the mountains. Tamara likes reading to her daughter, baking banana bread, making her own greeting cards, listening to the elders telling stories of the past, and going to all kinds of music concerts. Her favorite words are "here & now" and "I am grateful..."
